Danish minkfarmers interested in Iceland

Over 100 Danish minkfarmers attended a meeting in Jutland where they learned about possibilities for minkfarming in Iceland. A large group of Danish minkfarmers are preparing a study tour to Iceland this autumn and one Danish couple has already settled there and built up a successful minkfarm.

The meeting in Holstebro Jutland was organised by consulting company Heden og Fjorden. Mr. Thordur H. Hilmarsson from Invest in Iceland presented various possibilities for greenfield investments in minkfarming, mergers and acquisitions or cooperation in Iceland. The competitive production cost and high quality of the Icelandic mink skins make the operating revenues in Icelandic mink farming one of the highest in the world.
