Iceland's Clean Energy and Climate Change

Invest in Iceland and three of Iceland's largest energy companies, participate in the Sustainable Innovation Forum, an event held in Paris at the same time as the COP21 Climate Summit.

The Sustainable Innovation Forum is the largest business focused event held during the Conference of Parties (COP). The two day forum brought together cross-sector participants from business, government, finance, UN and NGOs.

The President of Iceland, Mr. Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, gave a keynote address, titled "Climate Leader Insight: International Energy Leadership. His address ended with a short video, prepared for the event.

The CEO of Landsvirkjun, Iceland's National Power Company, Hordur Arnarson, participated in an Insight Session titled "De-carbonising Global Energy Supply: Renewable Energy and Low Carbon Opportunities". Participants discussed e.g. how to increase the role of renewable energy technologies.

Energy companies ON Power and HS Orka participated in SIF and an information stand, explaining Iceland's unique energy situation, via printed material (available online in pdf format) and a short video presentation.
