Last month, Pearl Abyss, a South-Korean game developer announced its acquire of the Icelandic gaming company CCP. CCP is best known for the mass multiplayer online game (MMO) Eve Online, developed by CCP's Reykjavik studio and released in 2003. It has over 40 thousand players at any given time, operating a developed virtual economy. Peals Abyss has big plans for CCP after seeing record-high sales in the first half of 2018, following their launch of Black Desert Mobile in S-Korea. CCP Games will continue to operate independently as a developer with studios in Reykjavik, London and Shanghai.
